Huge amounts of money to go again with only a fraction of it being reimbursed. It's a really sad state of affairs

It will actually be interesting to see if we get more funding for the future if the UK win it for the umpteenth time. Any bets?

Which body do you apply for funding from or get allocated funds ? is it the BWSF or the sports council, lottery grants, local government ? it would be interesting to know please.

I believe the route is Sport England and UK Sport (Both lottery funded) channeling via BWSF through to Wakeboard UK - I am checking this and will ammend this post if I'm wrong.

In addition to this any private companies that can be cajoled into supporting the sport directly. In the past this contained White Stuff, Speedo etc.

As you can imagine this isn't a great deal of money, especially when you compete with other sports, tours, competitions, pro riders etc. Hence we are at a position where riders may end up contributing to far away comps. How we got here is another story for another post and I'll make sure this post doesn't descend into a WUK bashing one.. if only because I volunteer hours and money on the techie side directly to WUK so will get p*ssed off.

Thanks for that it looks like once again the same story that is heard all over in general in sports, namely parents pockets mostly funding the dream.

it isn't WUK's fault. sport uk or whoever gives the money out do this on the recommendation of the bwsf, strangely the lions share goes to skiers, shocking stuff, who'd have thought it?
