The fed should be a good thing, in reality they are nearly useless and far from transparent..
you should be able to get details of acounts from norma@bwsf.co.uk however there is no audit trial, read into that what you want!

Ok, well it seems that there are many more bwsf wakeboard members than originally thought, and suggestions that the BWSF may not always look after best interests of wakeboarders. Please dont get me wrong i'm in no way shunning the work of BWSF committee members looking out for wakeboarders as i'm sure there are. However in many cases wakeboarders views and waterskiers views can result in very different outcomes and contradict as they do at nearly all waterski and wakeboard clubs (specially the small ones, 'we don't need a wakeboard boat, we will just get two waterski boats with a wedge' kind of ideas'.

Therefore i think the only reasonable way forward is to have 2 governing bodies, one for wakeboarding and one for waterskiing, both offering the same insurance and SBDA courses, therefore working together, but with seperate funds for funding each sport. This would provide an accurate method of ensuring the money generated is spent funding the correct sport. It would also give members a more specialised service when calling for assistance or advice? I know this is very difficult to set up and open to criticism but what does everyone think?

Its not just about 2 disciplines its about five or six, then double it to separate boat from cable, you can only have one governing body. if you seperated it only one section would get funding from uk sport etc and only one would be recognised internationally. You would alsoincrease admin costs, which are probably too high at the moment, so i think we would put wakeboarding back several years with this idea. at the moment there are many people working very hard for wakeboarding on cable and boat committees, some i know doing an unpaid full time job because they beleive they can make things better for uk wakeboarding so the least we can do is get behind them. it is good to know that there are more wakeboard members of bws than i ever realised, The words preportional representation have come to mind, if only we knew what preportion!

the long and short of it is there isnt enough water available for a divide even if people dont get along! we have a hard enough time with the yaughties fighting for water space... the club i wakeboard with, the skiers get along pretty well with the boarders and without each other we wouldnt have cardiff bay to use... both sides are working towards more water time and better facilities and the only way to get heard is using numbers... im sure this reflects the same on a national scale,., as for how proportional bwsf support is i dont know
