330,,
sounds like you could be having multible problems,,but i really dont think your board being heavy(assuming a foam core board)is the problem,,sounds to me like you are not hitting the wake properly for maximum pop and/or your boat is not producing a big enough wake,,as for not making wake to wake jumps,, for now try shortening your rope until you get to a point of your wake that is not so wide,,write back and tell me what kind of boat you are using and the size engine it has,,and i can give you some sound advice on how to fix the troubles you are having,,i have a pretty good idea what your problems are but if you give me your boat info ,,i'll answer back and can give you more detail on how to solve all your troubles,,,

Default Spinning Basics

One trick that helped me spin better (particularly on the 360) is to try bending your knees and lifting your feet up to your butt as you spin. It should feel just like you feel when you go for a grab. This gives you a foot of additional air that will give you more time to complete your spin.

Naturally, the overall physics of the things that give you lift will always apply. How large is your wake, how much do you weigh?, did you apply your progressive edge and stand tall through the wake etc.?

Try the knee bend/spin for the simplest fix.

i agree with wayk board cuz if you hit the wake right you will go higher or father it also would help if the back of the boat is heavier

330,,
glad to here that you ride the edge all the way up and stand tall,, this is two things i was going to share with you,,, the bayliner i/o ( which i have a simular boat ) is going to produce a wider wake than you see on inboards ,, one problem you may be having is if you are using a 75 foot rope ,, i cant use 75 feet behind my boat ,, the wake is just to wide at that lenght ,, try shortening up to about 50 feet ,, i also have the v-8 200 horse motor and i can push 1 full fat-sac without a terrible strain on the motor,, get a fat-sac (about 100.00 dollars) they do wonders for bigger wake and are a whole lot nicer to handle than using buckets and trash cans,, i have seen several people when spinning try to use there hips and legs to force the rotation ,, this is not the way ,, the key to it is the pull of the rope ,, when spinning concentrate mainly on pulling the rope to your center and to the side of your choice to start the rotation ,, yo can also use your upper body for exstra help ,,which ever way you want to rotate start your head and shoulders in that direction,, because which ever way your head and shoulders go the lower body will follow ,,and the last tip i can think of is to keep on working at it without getting frustrated,, me and 100 other people may have tips for you on how to spin ,, but in the end it's your own personal style that feels right and comfortable to you that you will learn with,,,
