Hey !
Maby this should have been in the rookie zone , but i posted this here ´cause i wanted some replys. OK. I just lended a wakeboard. This was my first time riding a wake. I have been riding waterski and snowboard pretty much though. I had one problem: At one point i tried a indy and when trying to land it the front went below and I ofcource instantly fell down. When falling my front foot came off from the bindings and the back foot came of half. as the other leg was attached and the other was not and the board was riding me not me riding the board, It resulted a sprained ankle . Question is : were my bindings too loose ? (I assume that the Idea in Wake is that the feet wont come off the bindigs) I guess if both of my legs would have stayed at the bindings my ankle would be ok. Any similar experiences ? Is this a normal newbie **** up ? bindings were made by : fanatic (pretty new model) Also im about 180cm tall and 60kg (125 lbs) Is a 138cm board ok for me ? Thanks ! Ville H-H Helsinki Finland |

Your bindings should fit you well, I think there has been a post about this, so look around.... They should release when you take certain falls, if you hit the water hard enough you'll come out even if it took you half the day to get into them
Keep trying, when you do a grab, try not to look down and bring the board up as far as you can towards your hand... keep your leading hand (indy) in at your waist, if you let if out, you'll be pull forward and onto your face! Are your bindings high wraps, sandle style bindings won't help with your ankles. oh, you're board sounds OK. |

as i said im a newbie so i dunno much about wake bindings but , I would guess they are high-wraps. They are pretty much related to snowboard bindings and they are about as high as snowboard bindings.
U said the bindings should come off in certain type of falls. But then i guess its highly possible that only other would come off wich means that the board can twist the other leg even pretty bad ? am I right ? Do you get your legs off the bindings a lot when you fall ? (I assume U must fall sometimes also  ) Percentually how much falls out of 100 u get yer legs off the bindings ? Thanks for the Help !! |

It kinda depends what I'm trying, sometimes I won't come out at all, other times once or twice a go (10 mins) I once had one foot come out on a raley! that hurt 8O
Take a look at some bindings at somewhere like perfski.com and see if yours come up something like LF Ultra Sucs? If they wrap around above your ankle, they are high wraps... If you are going to get sucked out of your bindings, both feet out is best. |
