Default Towing Boat to France

Anybody had experience of towing and wakeboarding in france?

Im off to the south of france in the summer for 2 weeks boarding on the coast. Does anyone have any advice on what is required by french law...

Do i need a Certificate of Compitance from the BWSF ?
Do i need to register the boat with the Small Ships Register here in the UK?
Do i need to carry any xtra safety devices, VHF, Flares etc ?
Do i need to carry documents - Boat ownership etc...

Any other advice??

Much appreciated.

Other stuff, this was for a lake down past Bordoux, Gates.
For inland lakes you will need a SBDA boat drivers certificate, then also we needed to register with the lake warden. Cost about £40 for the two weeks. They also stated we neede to carry flares.

Had a great time, and was never asked for any of the documents we took with us.

Looking at a trip to lake Annecy this year.

One more tip, insurance, make sure your boat cover extends to a trip abroad.

Annecy is an awesome place to ride. I went in Oct and the water was still warm enough to ride in a shorty. I guess that 'cos the lake's so deep the big volume of water retains the heat. Either that or my shorts are centrally heated!

My friend has a house on the lake edge (lucky chuffer) at the end of the lake away from Annecy itself. We were out for two days solid riding and no other boats were out to mess up the flat for us! Bare-footing early morning, it's so flat, then boarding for rest of day - brilliant.

Don't know anything about rules for boats tho as he lives out there full time so I guess different things may apply. I think he said he had to take a boat test out there but I'm not sure if a UK test counts as well - sorry.
