Default The backrolls and the spins.

Okay, i'm having a few different problems. I went out today and tried backrolls and 360s for the first time. I'm getting a pretty good rotation on my backrolls and a lot of times my board gets to the water, but i seem to be leaning back to much or not rotating quite enough.. i land kinda on my butt with the board out in front of me. I am clearing the wake on these. My brother watching me says i get a fast rotation until i get upside down, but then i take the rest kinda slow. I'm not sure how to get around quicker.

-Next, on my 360's i'm able to make the rotation as well and i can basically land, but i have a hard time holding on to the rope. It seems to pull my arms out, and when i'm passing, pull one hand out too far.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the same problem with rolls off the wake... I can land them off the double up almost every time! The main difference I am aware of is just that I keep my body position nice and upright off the double up, because I know I'll get the height and throw it less. It almost completes itself without me doing anything. The few I've landed off the wake are the same, keep your knees soft and back straight on the approach, edge ALL the way through the wake, standing tall, chest and hips up, edging away from the boat slightly...try bringing your hips up to the handle. When you rotate, keep the handle in at your hips, this is what will make you spin faster. Let the handle out to stop the rotation. Concentrate on keeping the handle at waist level when you land, looking at the boat.
Done
With the 360s, keep the handle close all the way through the move. Make sure its in at your waist when you leave the wake, pull with BOTH hands towards the small of your back, giving you a little slack, pass and look at the boat.......

Hope that helps?

Thanks for the info, you explained a lot I didn't know to do.. I hope to go out tomorrow and the rest of the weekend, so i'll tell you how it goes..

-In regards to the double up, I still have problems finding it. I'm pretty sure I've told my driver how to drive it right, but I can't get to the bump fast enough, or I don't know where to look. Any help on that would be appreciated as well

Yeah, the driver obviously is 50% of the deal with the double up.... make sure he keeps the speed up around the turn so you don't sink and trys to get back to the right speed and is nice and straight as the boat loops back over its own wake... aim for 90 degrees. Take a look at the "Double Up" logo or think of a lower case p. Right foot forward, Left hand down and vice versa.

Stay behind the boat on the turn so you do'nt lose your speed, as the boat reaches the final turn before it straighens up start cutting out into the middle of the loop you've just made. Not too far to start with 6 feet of so will do. Now, look ahead of you and you'll see the three rollers heading your way, start drifting in slowly as they approach. You are aiming to ride over the first one (or two) and follow the trough into the wake... you are trying to be riding UP the next roller as it converges with the wake... You can't mistake it once you're in the right place, a nice big ramp will appear almost out of nowhere in front of you and kick you right up!!!
Chances are you'll miss the first few as for every peek there is a trough either side that seems easier to hit when you first try, but stick with it.
You'll get some serious height
