I'm not sure about inespensive, but I think one thing I'll try this year is snowboarding. I've never tried, so I'll be renting my equipment for a couple of times.

I figured it was the best way to keep working on my fakie and to stay somewhat conditioned. On top of that, working out is always important. Upperbody strength is what I try and stay focused on. My legs have always been strong.

Finally is aerobic training. If you are working on tricks, strength is important but so is stamina. Improving your cardio is key for this I think. Running or other aerobic exercises will help keep your heart rate up and keep you conditioned.

Dude,
The best way to do an inexpensive workout is to do plyometrics. Pushups, pull ups, chin ups, sit ups. Don't underestimate the power of your own bodyweight. I'm a Division 1 swimmer and nothing keeps you in better shape. I would also throw some squats in there. Do single leg squats if you don't have any weights around.

Snowboard, Skate, Surf are all excellent crosstrainers in my opinion. Keeps the sideways stance feeling in your muscles. Upperbody weight lifting or exercises are also important. Keep those arms strong.

You could try one of those indo board things they seem to work or so people tell me. Never tried one though,Snowboarding definatly does even if you can only get out once a week, keeps your tricks fresh and smooth as its sore on ice/snow/rock when you catch a dam edge
