Default Damaged LF Fish 129 - Help

Hey guys,

Just got my brand spanking new Liquid Force Fish 129 imported from America. Mistake! Whilst being shipped, the ends of the boards have been chipped and the fibreglass is exposed. The size of the chips are about the same size as a 5p and are not too deep.

How can this be repaired?

not that i'm a great fan of grey importing, think you should support the Uk industry, but it can be repaired using epoxy resin, you can get it from a yaucht chandlers, make sure you get the clear stuff. you should get a resin tub and a hardner, you can also get chopped fiberglass to mix in with the resin to make it stronger.
mix per instructions, fill the damaged area with the mix and then clamp it down using parcel tape so you get the rail shape, firmly press down the tape on one side of the board and then keeping the tape taught pull over the damaged area and press doen firmly ojn the other side of the board.
Dont worry about excess resin it will come off the gloss finish when hardened.

Hey Wulfy! first off i told u not to go US!
Anyway.. have you contacted the company because they should send you a new one for free because its the couriers fault. If not then get some fiberglass resin or aryldite from your local car shop (halfords etc) and fix it, personally i smash up boards on a regular occourance and never use tape. with what youve got fill in the hole so its bigger slightly then the side of the board. then get some sand paper and sand it down, this way itll be smooth and youll barely notice the difference, try either method. my board was broken when i got it and the guy who fixed it did a **** job using tape to mold it so i personally wouldnt try tht but ur choice!!!

THanks guys.

Will give the epoxy resin a go.

I think it was customs that damaged it. They opened the box and then put the board back in the box without putting th polystyrene back in! Muppets!

Did you sign for it as damaged from the courier. If not then your **** outa luck for getting a replacement or refund.

Its a shame really as I import loads of stuff and never have any problems.

The resin fix will do it and if your crafty you never know the difference. Besides it saves you going to the trouble of dinging it on sliders and stuff and you can lie about how it happened. Just tell anyone who spots the repair you done it busting a move on the slider.
