Well done. I'm sure gonna try for that in the future.
Would you be alloud to use a roam or does that not count as a normal wakeboard. And what speed was the cable going?

Thanks a lot for the positive feedback! It's nice to get congrats and not just 'you must be mad' comments! And nice one on the 24hr session. I was going to try to do that on my own but after the 6hrs I'd had enough! What was the max time anyone spent continuously riding?

Kristian, am I being dim but what's a roam?

Basically, the rules we used for the event said a normal wakeboard and bindings must be used so not sure if it qualifies. If you want I can send you a copy of the full set of rules.

The cable was running at normal speed. Not sure what that is but I found that the slightest variation from what you train at really makes a difference. (WakeMK were really good as they let me train during normal sessions so I had to ride at the same speed as anyone else on the cable.) For example I didn't use gloves at all until a session where I planned to do 120 laps. After about 20 laps my forarms were really burning because the thickness of the glove made the handle that little bit bigger so the muscles worked in a different way. I didn't use gloves again!

the roam is a board based on a snowboard, no fins and made of wood.

Cheers Neb.

I see what you mean about the roam but in my opinion it's essential to have some fins or channels to give a bit of grip for cornering. That makes life a lot easier when the legs are giving up!

Ian

Really good that you made it into the book, but even better that you did it for charity. You are a nutter, but only for headbutting the Oakley slider, not for this!

Will try & get up on Saturday if the weather's OK.

Take it easy.
