Default Wakestock 2002 TV Programme

You may have noticed that Wakestock 2002 from North Wales is airing on the Extreme Sports Channel throughout December. I would love to hear your comments about the show and how you think coverage of wakeboard events could be improved.

So what do you think?

watched it last night on extreme thought the coverage was fantastic caus i aint seen a wakeboard event held in the uk on the T.V before. I think they should of done a bit on the boards used by different riders and boats used at the competition. I thought the program was brilliant anyway!!! well done extreme.

Fingers,

Thoroughly enjoyed the show. Looked very professionally produced and made the best of the available light.

Here's the bits I rated:

1) The multi-camera footage of the riding
2) The interviews with the riders
3) The bags under the eyes of the interviewed riders
4) The mix of the riding and the party footage
5) The scoring presentation
6) Good commentary - nice to have someone who knows the tricks providing the running info
7) The footage of the slider being built

Here's the bits that could be enhanced:

1) Less sliders... this is a thorny issue as the riders rate having some new terrain to rip on. However from a spectators view it's less interesting that big airs.
2) The weather/water conditions, bugger all you can do about that as it was North Wales and on the sea...

Good job, tah for the mention in the credits ;-)

sick rich!
and jez(with respect) less sliders would definately be a bad thing in a predominantly slider competition!
i walked down the harbour wall and listening to the reactions from the crowd they understood a good slide or a bad slide a lot earlier in the day than a good whirlybird or a bad one.the great unwashed don't know the difference between a b/s 3 and a 7 but they can see that rails have consequences and that crashes hurt when u hit something hard.
everyone has tripped in the street or wherever and knows the pain of landing on something hard, not many have experienced a heel edge catching at 23 mph coming down from 6 feet up ,they think "well its only water and that wont hurt that much", little do they know!
sliders at somewhere such as a cable park are the only way alot of people are ever going to be introduced to wakeboarding,it has appeal because they see it when people skate or snowboard and a cable park is a much more affordable introduction to riding a wakeboard than behind the boat.
we will never have the appeal of the other boardsports until until we are more accessible and at £18 for 15 mins behind a boat versus £3 -£5 per hour at your local dryslope i think snowboardings mass appeal may just have the edge! skating and surfing speak for themselves.
sorry to drone on
i hope somebody is actually reading this
i wish it was summer

Not wanting to be controversial I agree with you.

Sliders are more fun to watch and the intracacies of all the technical stuff are lost on Joe Public as this is still a new sport to them.

From what i understand of Wakestock it has always been a slider/double up event, it makes a nice change instead of going to a straight wake event. can anyone remember Mr Creedy's Floodlit event?

Anyway i will sign off before i overstep the mark.

All the best

Robin
