Default Results of Cable World Champs 2006

just a quick update, prior to a bigger post...

GB Team came 2nd, Germany 1st, USA 3rd.
GB were just 40 points behind ze Germans (on a score of around 4500), so it was very close. The team score is based on the best 6 scores (highest placings) from the nominated team riders, so if anyone of us had picked up just one place we'd have won the whole event!!!. USA were about 2000 points behind us, so the Germans and GB were out front by a massive margin.

Individual finalists' results as follows:
Nick Davies, 1st, Junior Men
James Young, 4th, Junior Men
Ben Cordery, 1st, Boys
Josh Gaywood, 4th, Boys
Jes Hilbery, 7th, Open Women
Victoria Young, 2nd, Junior Girls
Georgia Jennings, 5th, Junior Girls
Dave Ingram, 4th, Masters

(woops, maybe this should have been in the CABLE forum, not sure how to move it now, maybe Jez will do the job. D.)

Irish (John Tully) was 9th in the semis so didnt qualify for finals. Idont know, but suspect he fell, as he would normally be nearer the top, in the qualifying round he was 2nd in group.
Jonty was disqualified in qualifying round as his helmet fell off on slider and he hit more obstacles after that... suggest we all chip in and buy him a new helmet before europeans. or a roll of gaffer tape

seems a bit harsh, if your helemt comes off your not going to drop the handle and swim after it, a bit of a catch 22

Not really. It states very clearly in the rules that if you hit an obstacle without a helmet you will be disqualified.
