yestersay i went to Thorpe and had a tow behind one of their boats, in 15 mins i learned more than i have in weeks due to him towing much slower than i was used to.
i am normally towed by a ski boat who is used to mono skiiers and tows i now feel too fast, i had hurt my self alot goign there and i am thinking it hurts that much more cause i am going about 28-30 . they tow the monos at about 43 ... i managed to learn to switch and got it straight away at abotu 14mph, gonna try it quicker but for the driver on monday what speed should be be towing me at? ta |

we always start people off at 18 mph when they`re learning, speeding it up as they want to start clearing the wake,(normally about 22-24mph)
but for practicing surface spins and what not, its good to slow it down to 12-14mph cos its nowhere near as bad catching an edge at that speed ![]()

Hmm yeah, i work in Kph so excuse the conversion to metric but had to get use to french system for the summer! But i ride normally about 36kph, and normally teach switching at about 28kph-30 dependning on their weight. Find most people find happy riding about 34k, so what thats like 21mph.
Hope this helps.. speeds quite important especially when your learning new stuff. Theres no point going to fast and hurting yourself... tip 2- if your wakeboarding get a wakboarder to drive you! Skiers just arent up for the job!!! Unless you have them well trained. |

went out today, asked him to drive a little slower had a much better day. less pain, only once face plant, was able to switch again and finally worked out this edging thing and missed clearing the wake by about a foot!
as for speed, i asked him today, he said he was towing at 20mph. when he was towing a friend of mine i looked and it was faster than that, but once i was out i got him to adjust the speed as i was going along to what i was comfertable with. |

I usually pull my friends around 17-20mph. If the water is really smooth the slower I will go but finding that kind of water is hard around here. Taking the boat out today after work hoping no one else will be out there!
