Default Health Insurance

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone has taken out a health insurance plan in anticipation of one day needing it for the various wakeboarding injuries that may happen along the way, that would cover physio/chiropractor treatments etc?

Thanks Mark.

It depends, do you compete or ride for fun?

Hi P, its for my son actually, who does compete on cable and boat, just like the idea that if he needs it someday, its there ready, I know the cost of pyhsio etc can be very expensive.

I suppose if your competing then you may stand more chance of being injured as your probably always working on new tricks to use at competitions.

How old is your son 15-16?

Ever the optimist huh? hehe, just kidding...

I've never taken it as I feel it would be tempting fate...

Just an FYI, Pru Health do a stonking deal if you live near a cannons gym - every couple of months they run a promo where you sign up for their health insurance and get free gym membership with it... the boon being that gym membership to Cannons gym is more expensive (generally) than the insurance... its a win win.. especially as we are beginning to enter the off season you son may want to maintain his fitness through winter.

Hope that (apart from my sarky comments) helps

Mark, I have Bupa cover for Freddie, if you start it when they are young its not too bad, but you will still need doctors referral for physio. i have never claimed for fred on bupa for physio because i never have the time to get him to the doctors first, i do claim on my hsa though which gets me back 50% of cost, and dont need referral.
