Default another one bites the dust!

where i board they have a range of toys that they convince me to try.. todays poisen was a wake skate.

no idea what it was, kinda board looking, with rubbery gripping surface. nothing strappy on it. just a plank of what ever!

it was interesting to say the least.

had no idea how to get up, so kinda just winged it. line pulled taught, had board under my feet, had it half in the water to make getting up easier. learnt the first time that you need to hands to get up!
managed to get up on my second go, did abotu 10 feet.. then tasted the lake again. took a few goes to get back up but i got up, and stayed up, crossed the wake, didnt dare try to jump! can just do that when i am attached to the board!

only tried it for about 10 mins then they chucked my board at me and i got up and did what i knew i could do a little better!

but i tell you.. i get 3 sessions in a day.. and from now on one of them will be on the skate!

I just tried it once. I thought I could handle it. Before I knew it 1 set had become 2, then 3 . . . . . . . . .

i was getting really annoyed with myself not being able to get up straight away, i have always been able to get up on a board first time every time from word go and not gettign it straight away was probally why i became so determined.

but tell me, my method of getting up.. i know it gets me up but is there a better way?

I'm hooked on it now.... past couple of weeks I've started out strapped in for a few laps of the cable to warm up, then moved to the skate - this week the wakeboard didnt even make it out of the bag

No idea on getting up behind a boat though - not tried that yet... will let you know on Sunday!
