How important is the quality of the skate? I bought a cheap one to see if I would like it, and I do. How big of a differance is it with a good board? I don't need to know what board case I don't want to get into a pissing match on which is best, but is it worth up grading? What should I look for if I do?

A good quality skate does feel a lot nicer than a basic one, it will usually pop nicer, slide nicer and hold and edge better but it depends what you want to do with the skate.

Everyone has their own skate preference, grip or foam, wood or composite. ride other peoples skates see what you like.

Skates I'd recommend are Omen, Integrity and I've started riding a Gator Drew which is a bit different from the other two but is a sick ride.

I have a drew, and love it. I think just try before you buy (seems like the standard answer). See what you like!

I have a Goodwood prototype foam and thats great as you can go bare feet if you want to. I've done the edges on it and it has stack loads of pop too!

An added bonus of foam is that it doesnt take skin with it when you stack.
But like the other guy said, try em all and see what works for you

I got a integrity tnt from mike a few months ago, great to ride, feels solid under your feet, and is light too.

I want the drew for my next skate, it doesn't pop as much as mine but is a lot less tiring to ride on cable...plus it has pre drilled holes for my as of yet unused nuggs.
