Funny you say about the lump on the end of the teg's, Sim/Stack, I can't ride without it...
I love the strength and thinness of the Integrity board, that feeling of being close to the water, how responsive the skate is under your feet is imperative to me.
I don't like the sluggishness of wood skates, (I feel justified saying that as a skateboarder of 15 odd years), wood skates truly don't respond the way skateboards do, in-fact I never understood why people say they are like skateboards?

(I expect some criticism here, well allot actually

nick How can you say you dont like wood skates cos thay are sluggish its the rocker that makes it feel slow in the water. as for responding like a skateboard nothing will do that the way i used the term is it pops straight up like a skate board not out in front of you like most wakeskates do

For me its mainly the weight as well as the rocker, i see what you mean about it poping right under your feet, Gator boards Drew does that pretty sweet, its still to slow spinning though. Nothing pops better or spins better for the way i ride than the Integrity skate... Me like!!!

I too danced the water on sunday, first time in a fair few weeks, stuck the second best 3 shuv of my life... Twas nnniiiiiiiiiiiiicccccccccccccccccccceeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeee!!!

I've found this thread hard to respond to because I didn't think there was much to add to

"the shape of an integrity, but with softer, consistent rails and made of wood, with the concave shape from a Mk 2 4-trac on top."

I think there may be a place for the 5 stage though. I tried the devotid last year and the pop just plain scared me. A few weeks later I tried an Omen and low and behold the pop on that was strangely alluring too. I need to spend more time on one though to see if that extra pop comes to the detriment of anything else.

I must say I wasn't keen on the Lumpy bit on the end of the Teg when I first got it. Having said that it just doesn't bother me now.

Glad to here everyones dancing good and its only Feb . . . . .

Nick, i think i know why the integrity suits you better.
As you've got such a big background in skateboarding, you're used to having a board with swing weight, ie the trucks at each end helping the board with rotations. Some people call the Integ' boards cheating because of the central and tip/tail weights that make it easier to do 3shuvs and flip tricks but at the end of the day, if it works then utilize it.

For those of us with a wakeboarding background, we're used to a flat board with no extra weighting, and for the likes of myself, marcus dixon, trigger and others who have been wakeskating since before purpose built wakeskates even existed, a bit of wood just feels more 'real' than something thats been engineered with crazy technology to do the same things as we used to do on a freemotion with the ends cut off and some sticky foam pads. Although i can see and understand the potential benefits of these boards (integrity, omen, SST etc), for the way i like to ride it seems somewhat unnecessary. That doesn't mean i'm right or wrong, everyone is different and that's what makes the sport what it is.

I think its great, we're at such an early stage in the life of wakeskating and there's already the old-schoolers and the new-school technology kids. the members on wakeskating.com just emphasize that statement.

I find this quite ironic that Erichs coming to market with what you'd term 'new school' technology yet he's one of the 'oldest schoolers' around.

Whilst I totally respect your points - I personally think that utilising technology to help something perform better is a good thing (Like making bicycles lighter, car tyres have better traction and those washing lines that go up and down if you spin the handle so you don't have to stand on a bucket or let your clothes drag on the floor... :P).
