is Integrity still new school technology? I don't think so, still progressive but not really new school (maybe middle school). The basic principles that his skates are built on are the same as they were when Integ started, 'cos they work. Erich himself is definitely old school.
It's funny when you think that riding a jetski is most definitely becoming old school.
I used to have the whole "get a wood skate or you're just trying to wakeboard without bindings" attitude, but now they're all just wakeskates.
I like how people like New, Devotid and Omen can just pop up and start making quality skates. There really is no need to buy skates from a wakeboard company if you don't want to. There is no real benefit in price or quality or technology.
Not hating just observing......

its just a shame that those skates aren't available in the UK market, unless you're talking about the European New company and not the state side one!

Rob - Omens not available at all now is it Thought Christian gave it up?

Pat - Fair point I guess - but what would you consider new school technology? Or don't you see it existing yet?

Ye I thought they stopped making them, but we'll see what the summer brings i guess!

Id say Integ is new school - although the idea has been around a long time it is probably still the most advanced board in consideration to the materials and the processes its gone through. To me and this is only my opinion a plain wood board is old school and only a few companies i would consider to be new school. My preference is the cheapest Gator board you can get and I love it.

Robin at New (in the US) will ship to the UK direct. Don't get me wrong I have the same opinions as always about buying product on the www from the states when you should buy it here and support your local board shop, but if you can't get the product in the UK then importing it yourself seems the only option. Maybe if there is a demand for the skates made by these little companies then someone will start to import them in bigger numbers who knows? Maybe shops will start to ask their suppliers why they don't import the skates that people keep asking for in the shop and a demand will be created. I'm not sure new or old school can really be applied to technology, it's just progression I think. I reckon it applies more (or will start to apply more) to the styles of riding and the variations will only start to become more obvious. The sport is so young that it really could do without splintering into groups- wake to wake riders, lip riders, winch riders or whatever. We still need to try and keep wakeskating all under one roof at the minute so we are stronger. "United we stand..." and all that stuff. The best thing for that and to be honest the best thing for wakeskating at the moment is the toe jam and volume wakeskate. The "overall" title in the toe jam is the key I reckon.
Just my opinion tho...
