Default the most perfect wakeskate to date?

Having been wakeskating for over five years now, i've ridden pretty much every board there is, and been lucky enough to choose who i wanted to ride for based on their boards.
I rode Integrity for a couple seasons and the deck was brilliant, but the only problem was the construction. Not that there's anything wrong with composite boards, but in my opinion you can not beat wood.
For me, the only other board worth riding was the Mk 2 Cassette 4-trac. a board from 2004 that was almost impossible to get hold of in UK, there was only one that I know of that made it to England, and we rode it until it death, after gluing, screwing and bodging it together in any attempt to prolong the life of this monumental board.

After reading peoples frustration at the lack of posts through winter, i've come up with this thread for wakeskaters to discuss how you're ideal board would be. What you're inspirational boards are and to just get an idea of what the rest of you skaters look for in buying a wakeskate. Please have a think an get posting - But if anyone mentions the hyperlite Gate/Karma i am gonna openly insult you in public, just a heads up!

I've been thinking about what would be my 'pro model' wakeskate shape, and i think i've cracked it: Imagine the shape of an integrity, but with softer, consistent rails and made of wood, with the concave shape from a Mk 2 4-trac on top. That would be THE wakeskate.

Well i'm no longer imagining it....

I rode this board yesterday and if the sun didn't set i'd still be out there now... it's awesome in the true meaning of the word

I'd kill to ride a 4 trac. Don't think I could design a wakeskate but i can say what i like about others. Shape of the gator mckukin... im looking to buy that board this year but im worried about how long wood boards last. Integrity, swing weight awesome but im embarrassed to say i could never get my feet comfortable.
Me and dogpoo bought a casette bi level and the pop was silly, but hey we are in england and spend half our lives on cable which just doesn't work with boards like that. Plus i couldn't get my head round being above the water.
Loved the weight of the goodwood ones and they are indestructible but whats with that foam?
One board I was always suprised to like was the new schnitzal. I rode it better than I ride my own.

Still have alot of boards to ride. I wanna try the vinyl but when i picked it up it looked massive.

Sim will give me sh*t but I would like to try the Vinyl too. having said that Byerly's bi level will be interesting.
I only really want to ride a bi level now, i rode my Urban last year and it was nice but I have never felt so comfortable as i have on an unbroken cassette bi level.
i rode Lee's devotid bi last year, the 5 stage one and it was sick but the pop was kind of over punchy compared to the cassette but Lee loved it. I would have got one if they hadn't run out.
I'm gonna ride their new 3 stage bi this year, it should be in next week- we need sunshine.
Of the all the other skates I ever rode the kampus k41 was awesome regardless of the fact that it was a flat deck. Kampus have to be the most indestructable wood skates ever if they ever made a bi level you could take it to war! In short Duane sort your sh*t out....
Sorry what was the question?

Stack, i totally agree about comfort on the integ's i hate that lump at the end of the concave. The new GB Drew has a PBT base on it and therefore sharper rails. Same shape and top though.
The Ronix bi-level (Zariel) is really good in my opinion and strong as fook, but so damn heavy, over 14lbs!
NM, I'm surprised you want to try that, i wouldn't have guessed. Have you seen a vinyl/legacy in person? I hate it, but solely because of the concave shape. It's like a 42" long mixing bowl its so deep, and i prefer a subtle concave. I'm not gonna tell you the question but your answer is a 2005 cassette bi-level with two mounting points rather than four on each end.

Also, a great big huge mega thank you to the guys at Gator Boards for making my idea of the perfect wakeskate, I'm so grateful.

Hey Sim, so is that a custom skate made by Gator? I've got to agree, i've held the vinyl and as soon as it got picked up it got put straight back! There's such a big difference between composite skates, the difference between an Integ compared to the vinyl is just huge!
I also rode for Integrity for a season and loved the board, but for me it was too light and in this country it just made it harder to use.
I dont think i've rode my ideal skate yet, i loved the shape of last years McGucken but it was just a little to narrow for me, changed to the Kovavich and loved the size and feel of it. I think my ideal skate would have to have a mix of the Kampus K series and the Gator Kovavich. Looks like im riding the Gator Reaper this year so i'll let you know the score

Had me thinking this i have to say last years devotid with the 5 stage rocker popped just like a skateboard.. But was a little slow sluggish but up the boat speed that was the key to it'. but i just carnt stop thinkin how an new 05 cassette bi 41 felt the one we rode till craig got it then we got 42 s i remember riding it and just falling in love it was to me how wakeskating should or would feel the 42 was not the same i think its the feeling of being off the water that makes it for me..? so im going for an 08 devotid passion this year ..as for a 38 that would feel small

here are some pics i posted last year of the 07 devotid

new wood
