Good luck with the build guys the feeling you'll get when it works straight off will make you grin for sure. I think you've made a good choise going with the TAV. The only drawback I've found with it so far is that winding the rope out is much more of a pain in the arse than with a clutch.

Cheers for the comments dogpoo, hmmm that doesnt sound right!
Yeah we did alot of research on parts before we began and the pro's for the TAV certainly outweighed the con's. Still waiting for it all to arrive from the states at the mo, god knows how much the import duty will be on it all ![]() |

Bit of an update on where were upto.
We got majorly delayed after it took over a month for the spool to arrive from bullet lines. Not there fault I might add and they did send a replacement after the original one never arrived. Cheers Ken! We've now got the Bullet Line and spool which means the frame is being constructed at the mo. Shouldn't be too long now and then we can start bolting it all together... Not sure how much we will get to use it this year though, as its fookin Baltic today ![]() Pics to follow soon ![]() |

Well the frame arrived back from the fabs yesterday. We used one of the designs posted on winchskating --- cockney winch --- if you want to find it, that guy put all his frame designs on the site!!!! So thank you very much!!!!
We just made a few mods to allow us to use the bigger spool. making the fork arms a little longer.... Anyway, me and radlam are getting together now to work out where all the bits will fit. Frame pic below, more build pics to follow. Frame cost £85 from a sub-contractor i know though work... always handy, they did a really good job too. Need some wheels for the back, and something to hold the fairlead on and a splash guard. |
