Default Winch Ver 1.0 - Progress report

Hi everyone,

Myself and PaulMc are building a winch together...

So far we've purchased:

6.5hp GX200 Engine (Honda Rip)
TAV2 Torque Converter #35
1" Axle
1" Sprocket Hub
1" 72 Tooth #35 Sprocket
4" Brake drum and band
1" Bearing Hubs
Fairlead
5ft #35 Chain

Next on the list is the Bullet Lines spool and 600ft line from the states. Then once we have these a design for the frame will be put together before being sent off to the fabricators!

Can't wait for it to be finished, im so excited!! We are hoping to have it done for mid September so we will still hopefully have a nice bit of weather to use.

As soon as I got pics of the progress, ill post them up...

If anyone has any questions about the parts were using, feel free to ask!

Thanks

Rick

good luck with the build m8

1 question if you don't mind answering

is there a uk supplier for TAV2's ?, all the other items seem readily available on the bay or uk.

was thinking of making a winch build a winter project for the dark nights after work this year but couldn't get a price on the TAV2

oh and 1 other Q, how much for the bullit 600 shipped over ?

cheers m8

Pretty much everything we have ordered bar the engine and bearings have had to come from the states.

With the spool being 1in centre, we had to use all other 1in parts which arent that available over here.

The spool and line delivered come in at about £260 delivered! Not the cheapest unfortunatly and will be our biggest outlay...

So far were on track for a complete build cost of £600. Which is a massive saving on the 1200-1300 quid to buy one!

cheers for the info m8

yeah i think the line will be my biggest cost, its great being in the UK aint it

i work as an engineer/macinist so all metal and fabrication wont cost anything, so thats a big bonus for me.

keep us posted with the build m8, will be cool to see some pics when you get the build going

hey hussy here is a link for a uk TAV2

Gemini Karts - Secure On-Line Shopping for Off-Road Karts, Kits and Parts

we got ours for about £95 including shipping from the states, so you can see the difference ebay makes when doing it on a buget.
