I've got a spare 6.5hp engine and sprocket I'd be willing to trade for a spool that disengages

helljay give me some dimensions (overall diameter - shaft size - width) and i'll make one. if its not what you want no biggie i'll keep it

doopoo i've read about these on winchskating i think, i can make anything so as soon as i look into what mechanism is used to dissengage the spool i can do it. again i'll get your sizes off you if your interested.

mmmmm now all i need is someone in need of a spool with a spare tav2 hahahaha !!

ha! sweet! 15inch diameter sidewalls, 8inch inner diameter, 8-9inch wide, 25mm axel. let me know if you want me to send you a sketch.
i was thinking about this dissengaging spool, if you mount the spool on wheel hubs you might be able to use a split pin system through the axel, they would have to be pretty strong and the spool would probably move left+right when the pins are out!!

Hussy, helljay hit the nail on the head!!!, the spools that disengage use a pin though the axel, then once its taken out the spool spins on its own bearings. i'll try do a paintbrush drawing of what they look like.... it won't be a masterpiece picture though!

Umm try this.... very crude but i hope you get the idea.

Oh and yes, you have to drill a hole through the axle, so best leaving it till the very very last thing you do. Once all other positions have been worked out.
