DogPoo - I think alot of that comes down to the quality of the powder coat. but yeah point taken for sure.

Maybe just automotive paint??

well i thought of just clear laquering it, but i think i might give spraying it a go

ordered the 10" rims for it today hahahaha

i'll show more pics once i get it finished and running

i noticed on one of your pictures you have more than one rope spool if they are spare would you consider selling one? cheers Dave

the 3 spools i made have all been taken now sorry

once i've tested my winch and proved that the spool design works good i may make some more for sale.

i'll let you know

Default Drum bars could damage expensive rope

From looking at your pictures, I see that your rope simply wraps around the bars between the spools (without any cylindrical metal barrel). I had a setup like this on an early prototype winch but the forces involved trashed the rope in no time. It got crushed at the thin bars and frayed elsewhere. You may have thought about this already but I wanted to warn you as those ropes aren't cheap. The only difference was that the line I was using then was fairly cheap and not coated like the bullet line.

Just a friendly word of warning.
