Default winch starting

well i been running my winch for a little while now and have been deep water starting, but as i've only started skating on my winch and have only wakeboarded on cable before, sometimes i'm wasting runs by not getting up on the start.

so what other ways do you guys use to start a winch run ?

i've seen video's of people starting using a mat to slide off and also sitting on a stool

If we cant find a suitable bit of bank to start from then we make some sort of stool out of whatevers lying around.

when doing deepwater starts you have to work with the winch, not lean against it. Keep in a sideslide position for as long as possible and let it pull you out by tilting your toes up.
If you can find anything to slide off that'll help, or you can even stand on your board at the side in shallow water, lean back and you will get up, but its not easy.

If your rolling on a skate an easy way to start if you have some shallow water is to put the skate 3 meters in front of you start the winch and run and hop on the skate. Kind of like a skim board.
